SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -

A Spartanburg County mother faces charges, accused of slapping a sick child waiting in the front office of a middle school.

According to a report from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, Tyshekka Collier showed up at Fairforest Middle School Wednesday to pick up her child, who was being suspended from school. Deputies say Collier walked into the office and slapped a child, thinking he was her son. The reported victim was sitting on the couch in the main office with his face down, waiting on his mother to pick him up because he was sick.

Deputies say Collier realized her mistake and started to apologize. The report states Collier then walked over to her child and started to slap him for getting in trouble.

Collier is charged with Disturbing School and two counts of third degree Assault and Battery.
