Cops Say Serial Thief Selling Stolen Goods Online

Posted: Updated:

Spartanburg County investigators say they've nabbed a suspect they think has stolen dozens of trailers and other equipment only to turn around and sell them online.

Timothy Wayne Johnson, from the Lyman area, has been arrested after detectives say they traced back to him a stolen flatbed trailer that had been sold to a man through Craigslist.

And detectives think Johnson may be responsible for many - perhaps dozens - additional thefts from around the Upstate. The investigators say they've found several postings on Craigslist where Johnson has listed items.

While they can't be certain the man stole all that he's trying to sell, they say it's likely.

They're asking anyone who may have bought from Johnson through Craigslist to get in touch with Inv. Lux by calling (864) 503-4597 or you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
