Not only was Nicholtown Baptist Church celebrating Easter Sunday morning, they were also celebrating a change among youth in the community.

Due to the abundance of young people, most of whom participate in the Put Down The Guns Young People program, the church moved its Sunday morning worship service from its normal church to accommodate the larger audience. Over 700 people showed up at the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center to celebrate Easter, on one of the holiest days of the year.

It was a joyous occasion as it also celebrated the youth in the community becoming more involved, thanks in large part to the program. Nonetheless, the day was all about Easter Sunday as church members gathered, congregated, sang and listened to a strong sermon from Pastor Darian Blue of the church.
