Three people, including two young children, were seriously injured in a wreck in Laurens County Sunday morning.

The wreck happened at 10:20 a.m. on Powers Road, just outside the city of Laurens.

According to Lance Cpl. Tony Keller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Tisha Brown, of Laurens, was driving a 1998 Buick south on Powers Road when she drove off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Keller said that Brown and a 10-year-old child were not wearing seatbelts and had to be extricated after being trapped inside the car. A seven-month old child was not restrained and partially ejected from the car, he stated.

Brown was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional Hospital, while the 10-year-old child was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The seven-month old child was transported by ambulance to Greenville Memorial Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Keller said that the wreck remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol. No charges have been filed as of yet.
