Francine Bryson competes in The American Baking Competition
New York -
A baker from Pickens will be on a new show launching in May on CBS. Francine Bryson who specializes in pies, cakes and quiches will compete against 9 other bakers from around the country on The American Baking Competition. The show debuts on May 29 at 8:00 p.m. on WSPA and CBS.
The show is based on the hit reality series produced in the United Kingdom. The American version of the series will be hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy and judged by chef Marcela Valladolid and baker Paul Hollywood.
The 10 bakers were chosen in a nationwide search of amateur bakers at local casting bake-offs. The baking enthusiasts span various careers from firefighter to college student.
Each week The American Baking Competition will feature the home bakers in three challenge segments. The "Signature Bake," "Technical Bake," and "Showstopper Bake" challenges will determine who is the "Star Baker" of the week. One contestant will be eliminated each week.
CBS says final challenge will be between the three remaining contestants, one of whom will go on to win the best amateur baker crown along with the $250,000 grand prize. In addition, the winner will be awarded a publishing contract with Simon & Schuster to publish their own cookbook.
