The bones that were found wrapped in a McDonald's shirt in Union County have been identified.

A SLED forensics agent who examined the bones says they are the remains of a deer.

The case has been closed.

Union County deputies say unidentified bones were found in a McDonald's work shirt near Lockhart Highway in Jonesville.

Deputies say two young men found the bones.

The bones have been taken in as evidence.

Investigators are not sure whether the bones are human or animal.

A deer skull was found near the bones.

Newberry forensic experts will examine the bones.
