Clerk Pistol Whipped During Spartanburg Armed Robbery

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a convenience store in Spartanburg Thursday evening.

Authorities say it happened at the Fuel Stop on Cannons Campground Road and Idlewood Drive just before 6 p.m.

The clerk says a man and woman came into the store.  The male suspect hit the clerk in the face with a handgun and fired one shot before leaving without anything from the store, investigators say.

The clerk was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
