Rutherford County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man and a woman Thursday after a raid at a home yielded a marijuana growing operation.

Members of the Sheriff's Office's Narcotics Unit and county Fire Department executed a search warrant at 185 Sidney Drive in Forest City after receiving reports that the people living at the home were growing marijuana. During the course of the search, deputies seized 17 marijuana plants that weighed 5.23 pounds, one rifle and two handguns.

Deputies arrested Emily Marie Rinker and David Paul Jenkins and charged them each with one count of maintaining a controlled substance in a vehicle, dwelling or place, one count of possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Jenkins was also charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.
