The Asheville Police Department says an Asheville High School senior was arrested after several guns were found in his vehicle.

According to an incident report, a staff member noticed a paintball gun and the handle of a handgun in a student's car and notified the school resource officer.

Jacob Carlton Wright, 17, was asked to come to the vehicle and told the SRO that he had guns in the car.

Once the car was opened, the officer found a revolver, a .22 semi-automatic handgun, a 30.06 rifle, a paintball gun, and an unopened can of beer.  All of the guns were loaded, according to authorities.

Wright is now charged with felony possession of guns on educational property, and underage possession of alcohol beverage.

The officer said that the Wright is described as a good kid with no gang affiliations, and that there was not a threat of a school shooting.
