GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -

Copper thieves are making a mess at local parks. According to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, the Greenville Recreation District found copper wires missing from four parks since January.

The thefts happened at Monaghan Park, Northside Park, Jimi Turner Park and Lakeside Park. The sheriff's office says the wires controlled the athletic lighting. The estimated damage is $3600.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
