Moogfest Returns To Asheville In 2014

Posted: Updated:
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -

The electronic music festival known as Moogfest will return next year to Asheville with new dates and a new producer.

Organizers say it also will have a new emphasis on innovation.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports Tuesday that Moogfest 2014 will be held April 25-27. The new producer is Paxahau, which replaces AC Entertainment.

Paxahau produces Detroit's Movement Electronic Music Festival and Detroit Jazzfest.

Moogfest was launched to honor the legacy of Bob Moog, the inventor of the music synthesizer who brought his company to Asheville. Moog senior brand manager Emmy Parker says Moogfest is about celebrating the forward-thinking spirit of both Moog and the city of Asheville.

AC Entertainment has scheduled the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit for Oct. 25-27.
