SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

Police are trying to track down the man who robbed and pistol-whipped a Spartanburg man.

The victim, Jerry Thomas, told police that a man named Jason called him several times, claiming that he had furniture to sell.

Thomas said he went to meet the man at his sister's house on Westover Drive. When he showed up, Thomas said the man took him to the rear of the home to check out the furniture.

According to the police report, that's when the man pulled out a gun, pistol-whipped Thomas in the face twice and demanded his wallet.

Thomas told police the man took his cash and ran off.

Police called in a K-9 unit, but was unable to track down the accused robber.
