SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -

The Spartanburg County Bar Association will launch Project Cinderella on April 13th. The group will give away gowns and accessories to young ladies who can't afford to attend their school formal events.

The 2013 Project Cinderella will be held on Saturday, April 13th, from 9:00am to noon at the Old Social Security Building. That's on Magnolia Street in Spartanburg across from the County Courthouse.

This will be in a "boutique setting" that lets girls pick out the dress of their dreams. The Spartanburg County Bar Association will also reach out to Union County and Cherokee County schools, since this event is not available in those counties.

Young ladies will also get a self-defense course courtesy of the Spartanburg City Public Safety Department.

Students only need their student identification card to participate.

Dresses may be dropped off for donation at the law office of Grace Knie located at 250 Magnolia Street.
