Anderson County Considers Banning Smoking On Government Property

Posted: Updated:

Anderson County councilman Eddie Moore wants to ban smoking on all government-owned property, according to our coverage partners at the Anderson Independent Mail

The paper reports that the proposed ordinance would mean smokers would be restricted from lighting up at parks, ball fields, amphitheaters and outside any government buildings, like the court house.

The councilman is expected to introduce his proposal before the entire council at its meeting this coming Tuesday.

The cities of Spartanburg, Greenville, and Simpsonville have all passed similar smoking bans over the past couple of years.
