GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Upstate church members are packing meals to help feed starving children around the world.

Greenville's First Presbyterian Church is hosting the two-day event, called Grains of Grace. It's a partnership with the Christian hunger relief charity, Feed My Starving Children.

Nearly 1,200 church members, both young and old, will be working in two hour shifts Thursday and Friday. They plan to pack 250,000 meals for severely malnourished and starving children worldwide.

Each meal pack provides a nutritious meal for six. They're specially made so they are easy to prepare, safe to transport, and culturally acceptable in countries around the world.

Once the meals are packed, the church will ship them to orphanages, clinics, and schools in developing countries.
