Troopers Charge Woman In Deadly Hit and Run In Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit and run crash in Spartanburg County. The crash happened at 4:30 a.m. at Lake Forest and Torino Drives.

A female victim has been identified by the Spartanburg Coroner as 23 year old Jacquelyn Cara White of Woodberry Place, Spartanburg. 

White was found on the side of the roadway.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne, SC Highway Patrol says Colleen A. Casey, 25, of Spartanburg has been charged with leaving the scene of a wreck involving death. She is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center without bond.

The details of the collision are still under investigation by the Highway Patrol's M.A.I.T. Unit.

Rhyne says, "In this particular area a lot of people work out early in the morning and you'll see a lot of people out walking and running and it happened around 4:30. Not unusual to see people out walking on the roadway at 4:30 in the morning."
