BLACKSBURG, S.C. -

The Cherokee County coroner says a Blacksburg man was killed while working on a lawn tractor.

A family member found 76-year-old Noah Lee Martin under the mower Monday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner says Martin had the tractor raised off the ground by a motor hoist. He was underneath the tractor trying to remove one of the blades from the mowing deck, when the hoist toppled and the tractor fell on him.

The coroner ruled Martin's death an accident. He says it appears to have happened sometime early Monday morning.
