ANDERSON, SC -

A fire damaged a home in the city of Anderson early Wednesday evening.

The fire broke out at a home at 109 S. Prevost Street just before 6 pm. According to Cpt. Jamie Parnell of the Anderson Fire Department, firefighters received the call at 5:50 and were on scene in just moments.

When they arrived, firefighters found flames coming from the roof of the kitchen and back porch. They managed to get the fire under control, but the fire damaged the back of the house. Parnell said that the home sustained severe damage due to smoke and water.

All of the occupants of the home managed to get out safely. None of the firefighters were injured while battling the blaze.
