Goodwill serves sweet deals in St. Petersburg

ST PETERSBURG -

Goodwill Industries Suncoast,  headquartered in St. Petersburg is one of the largest and most effective Goodwill organizations in the world. It posts revenues at nearly $62 million.

Many credit the financial success to forward-thinking programs like "Good to Go", Goodwill's new catering company. It has doubled its business after officially be open for only two years.

"It's growing so fast that we are a little amazed," said Vicki McWhorter, Good to Go's food service manager.

The agency is trying to create training and job placement for those living with physical disabilities so it offers the catered food at deep discounts.  "We're not here to make a lot of money we are here to support our programs - so it sets us apart from other caterers," McWhorter said.

Everything made at Good to Go is fresh and customer Tammy Leventis who runs a printing and mailing company locally says the food is incredible.

"One days I decided to call and order pizza for my employees and everyone said this great what place did you get it from," she said. "When I told them it was Goodwill's new catering company they said really?"

My husband and I were at a fundraising event and when someone pointed out the gourmet catered food came from " Good to Go", I immediately grabbed catering information to contact Goodwill and share the story with News Channel 8 Viewers.  If you have catering needs Goodwill is serving up sweet deals.
