UNION COUNTY, S.C. -

Two men are facing charges after a pair of malnourished pit bull dogs were found chained up behind a Union County home.

A deputy with the Union County Sheriff's Office was serving an eviction notice at 309 Foster Street when he noticed the two dogs. He called animal control to the scene.

Police reports say both dogs had been deprived of food, water and shelter. One was chained up near the back door of the home, while the other was chained up near some trees on the property.

The dog owners were identified as two brothers, Timothy Jennings and Jasper Jennings, III. They're both charged with ill treatment of animals and failure to inoculate.

The dogs were signed over to Animal Control and taken to the Union County animal shelter.
