Bridge Deterioration Shuts Down Cherokee Co. Road

Jumping Branch Road in Cherokee County is shut down because of deterioration on the bridge over Jumping Creek. The SCDOT Maintenance Division closed the road about 3.5 miles east of Blacksburg.

Right now there is no estimated re-opening date. Crews are working to decide what needs to be done to fix the problem.

A detour is in place, it includes SC-5, US-29 and Tribal Road. The detour is less than 4 miles long.
