Oconee County Deputies Investigating Pair Of Thefts

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in solving a pair of thefts near the town of Seneca.

The thefts happened along Wells Highway over the weekend.

The first happened at a property at 1974 Wells Highway between noon on April 27 and 8 am on April 29. According to sheriff's office investigators, someone removed the gate to the property and stole a E-Z-Go Golfcart valued at $3,200 and a 5x10 utility trailer valued at $750. Gas was also reportedly stolen from other golf carts as well.

The second theft happened at 2020 Wells Highway between 10 p.m. on April 27 and 6 p.m. on April 29.

Investigators say that a fence had been unbolted and someone entered the property. Two air lines, two new exide batteries, galvanized fence posts and a 1994 white Isuzu pickup truck with a total value of $4,100 were taken in the the thefts.

If anyone has any information regarding the thefts they are asked to contact Oconee County Crimestoppers at (864) 638-STOP or 1-888-CRIME -SC. People cal also text a tip to 274637. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
