106 Mile Torch Run From Greenville To Columbia Raises Money For Special Olympics

On Thursday morning law enforcement started a journey to raise money for Special Olympics.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run began at 5:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center.

It will continue over 106 miles to Columbia arriving Friday May 3rd at noon.

Converging on the steps will also be law enforcement teams from other parts of the State including Mt. Pleasant, Myrtle Beach, and Rock Hill.

All teams will then run the "Flame of Hope" torch from The South Carolina State House steps to Ft. Jackson over a seven mile journey at 6:00 p.m. for the opening ceremonies of the games.
