For the third year in a row Hands on Greenville Day will support Lake Conestee nature Park. More than 600 GE volunteers will roll up their sleeves and go to work to improve wheelchair access and exhibits at the park.
The GE Foundation is providing a $15,000 grant to cover the cost of building materials for projects including building a wheelchair-accessible observation deck, constructing a bird observatory, making new hiking trails, creating wildlife viewing windows, removing invasive tree species, installing trail signs, and landscaping.
Lake Conestee is at the southern end of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. It makes up about 400 acres of natural habitat on the Reedy River.
