SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

An Upstate man is hoping officers with the Spartanburg Public Safety Department can get answers about who keeps breaking into his home.

Officers responded to a home on Amherst Drive around 2:20 a.m. Sunday. The victim told them he came home to find the house completely ransacked.

Police reports say the intruder got away with two flat screen TVs, a laptop, a desktop computer and some cash. During the break-in, officers say they also dumped out bags and looked into all the chair cushions.

The victim says this is the second break-in at his residence recently. Similar electronics were also stolen during the first burglary. Officers haven't said whether the two crimes are connected, but they do believe that someone knows the victim keeps electronics inside the home.

Police took pictures of the crime scene and dusted for fingerprints. However, they have not identified any suspects so far.

Dozens of people gathered Saturday afternoon to rally against the state's "Stand Your Ground," law, saying it amounts to "legal lynching." The group, Moms Demand Action, said the South Carolina law, first passed in 2006, causes gun violence and is exploited as a defense.
