Votes have been counted in the annual Beer City USA poll and Grand Rapids, Michigan has stolen the title from Asheville.

Asheville has claimed the crown for the past four years, sharing the honor with Grand Rapids in 2012.

Grand Rapids pulled in just over 27,000 votes, followed by Kalamazoo, Michigan, then Asheville with around 10,000 votes.

Here's a look at the complete results

Voting is underway and the city of Asheville is looking to retain control of its "Beer City" title.

The annual Examiner-based Beer City USA Poll opened Monday to voters.  Asheville is one of 22 cities nominated in the nationwide contest.

The western North Carolina craft brew hub split the honor in 2012 with Grand Rapids, Michigan.  That marked the fourth year Asheville wore the crown.

The city also shared the title with Portland, Oregon in 2009, then held the Beer City recognition on its own in 2010 and 2011.

Now, the city hopes to secure its fifth consecutive win in the same number of years the poll has been available.

And there's good reason for the trend.  Asheville has a rich craft beer culture.  It boasts around a dozen breweries.  Recently, three major breweries decided to open up additional operations in the area.  There are also several beer festivals throughout the year, including the upcoming Asheville Beer Week.

According to the Examiner, last year's poll brought in nearly 56,000 votes.  Organizers say you are only allowed to vote once per IP address.  Make sure you cast yours before the end of the day Friday, when voting ends.
