Spartanburg, SC -

Two teenagers were arrested and charged with a series of car break-ins in downtown Spartanburg.

Captain Art Littlejohn of Spartanburg Public Safety said that officers were dispatched to 130 E. St. John Street around noon on Friday. When they arrived, a witness flagged them down and stated that he saw a black male and white female break into a grey Honda that was parked in the parking lot.

According to Littlejohn, the witness pointed out the female suspect and she was detained. Littlejohn said the female then provided information on the male suspect, identified as 18-year-old Timothy Marquise Moultrie, of Spartanburg, and he was later located and placed under arrest.

Littlejohn stated that the female gave consent to search her car and police officers located several guns, along with other items stolen from other car break-ins. Littlejohn said that officers were able to link the couple to four other car break-ins in the area. The girl's car was towed and other stolen items were recovered.

Moultrie and the 16-year-old girl were each charged with five counts of car breaking and six counts of petit larceny less than $2,000. Moultrie is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center while the juvenile was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
