190 Conley students participate in ‘Take Your Bike to School Day’

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Nearly 200 high school students showed up to class on two wheels this morning.

D.H. Conley students opted for bicycles instead of cars to celebrate the last day of National Bike to Work or School Week.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office provided an escort as students rode from the Pitt-Greenville Soccerplex, down Hwy 43 to school.

Our cameras captured students on mountain bikes, some riding tandem, and even one brave soul pedaling on what seemed to be his little sister's tri-cycle.

Students told they wanted to participate for all kinds of reasons, whether to save some money on gas or to show off their school spirit.
