Tampa educators to sell supplies at MOSI

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Teacher supplies can be very expensive. Ask any teacher they will tell you it's true. A couple of local educators are doing their best to help cut the cost for the tools teachers use in the classroom.

Adrianne Wilson, a peer educator with Hillsborough County, Latoya Desamour and elementary school teacher, opened an online store called Twice As Nice, The Educational Consignment.

It's a website where teachers can purchase new and used educational resources like books, games and other tools at a smaller cost than retail.

"Everything is marked down from 50-80% off the retail value," Wilson said.

The educational consignment shop is not just for traditional classroom teachers.  Parents who are home school educators, as well as tutors and after school educators, can get what they need without spending a fortune

"It's helping college graduates, stay at home moms, home school moms, tutoring groups to be able to get access to these very good quality items at a fraction of the price," Desamour said.

Twice As Nice, The Educational Consignment is sponsoring an event this Sunday at the Museum of Science and Industry called Teachers Helping Teachers Big Sale. It starts at 9:30 a.m. Sunday May 19 and goes until 5 p.m.

Educators can come to buy resources and sell some of their classroom wares to other educators on consignment.

If you'd like to consign some of the items you have, you need to register first with Twice As Nice Educational Consignment. Click the link below to do that.
