GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Greenville Police are investigating an overnight armed robbery.

Police tell us a it happened around 12:55 a.m. Friday at an apartment on Rosemont Drive.

The victims told 9 On Your Side they heard a knock at the door and saw four men standing there when they opened it.

Police say the men were looking for something specific.  They forced their way into the apartment despite realizing they were at the wrong unit.

"I heard a bunch of banging," said Ric Bowen, who lives beside the victims, "All of a sudden they bust out of their doorway and his girlfriend has a bruise on her head from where they bashed her in the head with the door when they busted in."

Investigators say a television, XBox gaming console and cell phones were stolen.

A close friend of the victims also believes the burglars had the wrong house.

"These were good people and they didn't deserve to have this happen to them," said Cullen O'Brien, :In no way did they bring this on themselves.  So, from that standpoint, it's very disturbing and it makes you question how safe you really are."

No description of the men was provided.
