More Storms Expected Thursday After Overnight Outages

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -

Overnight thunderstorms left thousands of people in the Upstate and western North Carolina without power.

Duke Energy reported over 3,000 customers were in the dark in Greenville County Thursday morning.  Other counties also reported outages.  Click here for the latest outage numbers.

Heavy rains even caused a Greenville County mudslide.

And Storm Team 7 meteorologists say more rain and storms are expected Thursday as a cold front moves into the western Carolinas.

Meteorologist Malachi Rodgers says highs will climb to the low 80s in the Upstate and middle 70s for the mountains.

"Drier air will move into the area late Thursday to allow full sunshine for Friday and the weekend." He adds.

Sunshine and cooler temperatures will hang around for Memorial Day weekend.
