Chaz Frank's three-run triple highlighted a five-run 14th inning and lifted North Carolina past Clemson 12-7 late Friday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament.

Top-seeded North Carolina (50-8) scored the game's final 10 runs after trailing 7-2 in the ninth.

Cody Stubbs scored on Mike Zolk's groundout to give the Tar Heels an 8-7 lead. Two batters later, Frank broke it open with his triple to right.

This game had no bearing on which teams will play in the championship game Sunday. The winner of the North Carolina-N.C. State game Saturday night will face Virginia Tech for the title on Sunday.

Brian Holberton's three-run homer capped North Carolina's five-run ninth.

Jon McGibbon scored on Stubbs' fielding error in the eighth to put fifth-seeded Clemson (39-19) up 7-2.
