One Person Killed In Wreck On I-85 In Anderson County

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a wreck that killed a person on Interstate 85 Sunday morning. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a wreck that killed a person on Interstate 85 Sunday morning.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a wreck that killed a person on Interstate 85 Sunday morning.

The wreck happened just before 6:30 a.m. in the southbound lane at the 24 mile marker in Anderson County.

According to Trooper Billy Elder of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the 34-year-old unidentified driver of a 1993 Honda sedan ran off the right side of the interstate and struck a ditch and a tree. The driver was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Elder said that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck. The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
