Anderson County deputies say they've arrested a Honea Path woman with several counts of ill treatment of animals.

Animal Control Investigators say they have charged 33 year old Hilerey Jessica Kinzel with six counts of ill treatment of animals.

Investigators say they responded to a call on 711 Abercrombie Road in Honea Path in reference to several dead cows initially thought to have been shot.

Once on the scene, they found three dead cows in a storage area of a barn.  They later determined the cows had not been shot, but died because of maltreatment.

Officers also found two other cows and a horse that were malnourished.

Kinzel was arrested on an outstanding magistrate court bench warrant.

She is currently at the Anderson County Detention Center.
