Three people have been arrested and another person is being sought after a rash of vandalisms in the Wattsville community of Laurens County.

Laurens County Sheriff Ricky Chastain stated that investigators have been investigating a rash of vandalisms in the county, especially the Wattsville community, during the past few months. As a result of the investigation, two 16-year-old juveniles, whose identities are not available due to their age, were arrested, along with 18-year-old Fabian Diaz, of Laurens, and charged with three counts of malicious damage to personal property.

The two juveniles were transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, while Diaz is being held at the Johnson Detention Center in Laurens County awaiting a bond hearing.

The identity of the fourth suspect has not been released.

According to Chastain, another juvenile was arrested early Thursday after deputies responded to a fight in the Wattsville community.

When deputies arrived, they had received reports that shots had been fired during the altercation, and the investigation led them to a 16-year-old boy who was subsequently taken into custody. The teenager was charged with aggravated assault and transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia for a bond hearing.

Chastain said that the investigations into the incidents are ongoing. If anyone has any information about these crimes or any other crimes in Laurens County, people are urged to contact Laurens County Crime Stoppers at (864) 68-CRIME or the Laurens County Sheriff's Office at (864) 984-4967.
