Greenville Cops Catch Accused Jewelry Thief

GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Greenville Police caught the man they say broke into three businesses along N. Main Street and stole several pieces of jewelry.

Tommy Andrew Bailey faces three counts of burglary 2nd degree and possession of burglary tools.

Police were called out to Cochran Jewelers, at 211 N. Main Street, around 11:40pm Monday night. They say the front window was busted and several pieces of jewelry were missing.

3 hours later, police were called back out to N. Main Street, this time at Chimney Rock Gems. Officers found Bailey outside the business. Witnesses say he was looking in the window before the alarm went off. Police say Bailey had a hammer, pry bar and stolen items from Chimney Rock Gems in his possession.

Police say the Beaded Frog, at 233 N. Main Street was also burglarized.

According to the police report, officers searched Bailey's apartment and found several stolen items from Cochran Jewelers and the Beaded Frog inside.
