SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -

Monique Sanders, is spending another day in Spartanburg County Detention Center, while Sanders, 26, waits to go before a judge on charges for the "unlawful neglect of child", according to the warrant posted by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's report states that, Sanders, left both, a five and three year old unattended inside of a home after feeding the children grits.

A witness called 911 after the children were spotted walking alongside of John Dodd Road near the intersection of Highway 129 in search of their grandmother's house and food.

The deputy went to the home to search for Sanders, only to find the house vacant and the television playing cartoons.

The children are currently in emergency protective custody with the Department of Social Services, or DSS.
