Chimney Rock Scores High In Best Of The Mountains Poll

CHIMNEY ROCK, N.C. -

A western North Carolina state park has been given a big honor.

Blue Ridge Country Magazine readers voted Chimney Rock the best of the Southeast mountain region in seven categories.  Those honors include a platinum award for Favorite State Park in the 2013 Best of the Mountains poll, which covers seven states.

The park was also given awards in categories such as:

 

  • Best Hike to take the Dog Along
  • Best Birding Area
  • Best Beautiful Fall Foliage Spot
  • Best Hiking Trail
  • Best Scenic  Photo Opportunity
  • Best Waterfall

 

"Chimney Rock has a lot of longtime, passionate fans and friends that eagerly shared their feelings to help earn these impressive honors.  These awards are really about our fans throughout the country and their love and support for this beautiful mountain paradise in Western North Carolina," said Mary Jaeger-Gale, Chimney Rock's general manager.

The Best of the Mountains Poll is held once every five years.
