SOUTH CAROLINA -

The WorkLink Workforce Investment Board has a new way for employers and job seekers to access employment and training services through the SC Works WorkLink Employment Centers in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties beginning July 15, 2013.

Services for employers and job seekers will be re-located from the Seneca SC Department of Employment and Workforce building located at 11091 North Radio Station Road to the Tri-County Technical College QuickJobs Development Center located at the Oconee Campus at the Hamilton Career Center in Seneca.

The same services will also be re-located from the Liberty SC Department of Employment and Workforce building to the Tri-County Technical College QuickJobs Development Centers located at the Easley Campus. All services will be officially re-located and available to the public on July 15, 2013. Hours of operation for the new locations will be 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (except for major holidays).

All services offered in Anderson will remain at the SC Department of Employment and Workforce building located on West Whitner until early fall of this year when they will move to Tri-County.

They will open a centrally located SC Works WorkLink Employment Center in Clemson this fall.

Dozens of people gathered Saturday afternoon to rally against the state's "Stand Your Ground," law, saying it amounts to "legal lynching." The group, Moms Demand Action, said the South Carolina law, first passed in 2006, causes gun violence and is exploited as a defense.
