Robbers Shoot Up Convenience Store In Greenville County

Posted: Updated:

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery that led to a shooting at a convenience store late Friday night.

Lieutenant Tim Ridgeway of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said that two black males entered the Mahi Ford at 2400 Anderson Road just after 10 pm. The two men pulled out guns on the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes. During the course of the robbery, Ridgeway said that the men fired a shot at the clerk, but missed, and then fired another shot at the cash register, almost hitting the clerk.

After taking money and cigarettes, the two men fled behind the store on Fortner Avenue and continued running onto Kentland Avenue. As they were running, a woman in her car with her children saw the men and asked them if they were okay. The men fired a shot at the woman, leaving a bullet hole in her car. The woman told deputies that she saw the men get into a black Chevrolet Tahoe at the end of the roadway and leave.

Ridgeway stated that the men left a trail of money and cigarettes on the ground as they were running from the scene. Greenville County K-9 deputies were brought in to look for the robbers, but they were unable to locate them.
