SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

The job outlook is improving in the Upstate, which is great news for the unemployed.

SC Works of Spartanburg has 11 companies in Spartanburg and Oconee counties looking to hire hundreds of people right now.

"I'm seeing a lot more employers with needs, and the job seekers of course are responding by going and applying for those jobs," said center manager Diane Albin.

On July 1 in Spartanburg, American Credit Acceptance has a job recruitment event at SC Works in Spartanburg at 110 Commerce Street.

Greenville County's unemployment rate fell from 8.2% to 7.1% in just a year.

People looking for a job have also seen a change in the market.

"Ya they're definitely offering a lot of jobs, a lot more jobs and making it a lot more easier for us to find these jobs and give us resources and things like that," said Marsha Brooks.

SC Works also offers classes to help job seekers get that position they want.
