Three arrested in Chocowinity with 17 bindles of heroin

CHOCOWINITY, N.C. -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office seized 17 bindles of heroin of a home in Chocowinity after conducting controlled purchases from the residence.

On June 27 investigators arrested Elijah Zechariah Scott, 21, Michelle Dawn Beavers, 27, and Robert Wayne Smith, 22, of Chocowinity after conducting controlled purchases from Scott and Beavers' residence. Investigators conducted a search warrant and seized 17 bindles of heroin packaged in wax paper, heroin packaging material, cutting agents and used syringes.

Elijah Scott and Michelle Beavers were arrested and charged with Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity, Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Robert Smith was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin and Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Heroin.

Smith and Beavers were held under a $25,000 secured bonds and Scott was placed under a $30,000 secured bond.
