Gaffney High School standouts Shaq Davidson (football) and L.J. Peake (basketball) selected USC and Georgetown, respectively, for their college careers Tuesday night at a news conference at the school..
Davidson, who plays quarterback for the Indians but is likely to be a college wide receiver, guided Gaffney to the Big 16 state title in 2012. Peake, who played the first three years of his high school career with Gaffney, transfered to a Chicago school for his junior season, and then returned to the Indians for his upcoming senior, announced his intentions for Georgetown.
Initially, like Davidson, Peake donned a South Carolina hat but quickly switched.
Peake can make his commitment official during the week-long November signing period.
Davidson must wait until the first Wednesday in February on National Signing Day.
