Persistent Rainfall Can Lead To Home Damage

Posted: Updated:
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

The rainfall's impacts are showing up all over the upstate.

Swollen rivers and washed out roadways are easy to see.

But all the rain can cause costly problems at area homes.

Shelli Bagwell with PuroClean Restoration Rescuers showed 7 On Your Side that people need to look for water leaks under their homes to avoid damage.

"We can't stop the water, but what we can do is kind of control where it goes," Bagwell said.

This can turn into a big mold problem so try to take care of the problem as soon as possible.

You should also check your downspout and make sure it's not creating a ditch or overdraining close to your home.
