ANDERSON, SC -

An Anderson County teen is in stable condition Sunday afternoon after an explosion involving an unspecified watercraft on Lake Hartwell, in Anderson.

According to Anderson County Fire Chief, Billy Gibson, the teen pulled up to a dock on the edge of the lake and injected gasoline into what the chief expects was the oil port causing the sudden blaze. As a result of the incident, Gibson says there was several gallons of gas leaked into the lake.

The watercraft was reported to have been a jet ski.

HAZMAT, US Army Corp of Engineers, DNR and Anderson Station 14 responded and assisted in cleanup of the lake. There is no additional information available at this time.
