Brothers Arrested, Charged in Oconee County Burglary

OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. -

Deputies arrested and charged two brothers from Hendersonville, accused in a violent burglary in Oconee County.

James Estes II turned himself in to Oconee County deputies Monday morning. He was charged with grand larceny and burglary. His brother, Joshua, was arrested in Henderson County Monday afternoon. Joshua was charged with assault and battery, burglary and grand larceny. Deputies are trying to get Joshua extradited to Oconee County.

On Wednesday, July 3rd, deputies say the brothers broke into a home on Shallow Falls Road and loaded an SUV with stolen items, including jewelry and guns.

When the homeowner came home during the crime, deputies say the two men tried to run him over. Investigator say that's when the homeowner fired his gun, hitting the driver.
