Going on several days in a row, rain and thunderstorms remain in the forecast for the Upstate and western North Carolina.

Storm Team 7 forecasters say the precipitation will come ahead of a cold front that will arrive Thursday evening.

Meteorologist Malachi Rodgers says highs will be in the low to middle 80s.

"Heavy rain will cause some flooding potential, so be careful if you encounter any heavy rain," he says.

Because of the forecast, Spartanburg officials have called off Music on Main Thursday.  Downtown Alive in Greenville has also been canceled.

Cooler, drier weather arrives Friday and Saturday with highs in the low to middle 80s.

Higher rain chances return Sunday and Monday.
