Arrest Made In Oconee Co. Fatal Shooting

WESTMINSTER, S.C. -

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested a man they say was involved in fatal shooting.

Shane Adam Burdette, 34, of Westminster, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.  He's accused of shooting and killing 21-year-old James Even Tyner, of Seneca.

Investigators say they were called to a home on Mt. Pleasant Road near Blackjack Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday where they found Tyner, who was shot in the neck.

Investigators say Tyner was seen running away from where the shooting took place.  He collapsed face down on the shoulder of the road.

A shotgun was found in the yard.

Burdette is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center.  The investigation continues.
