The Union County Council has approved an inducement resolution to recruit an investment in the county by a company looking to bring jobs into the county.
The Union Daily Times reports council members unanimously passed the resolution for the company known as "Project Modern".
The resolution states the project will represent an investment of about $25 million in new, taxable investment and the creation of approximately 170 new full time jobs in the county between January 31, 2013 and January 31, 2016.
The Daily Times also reports the resolution states the purpose of the project includes economic development, keeping jobs and adding to the county's tax base.
County manager Tommy Sinclair tells 7 On Your Side the jobs should be available, if all goes well within a few months. The project is scheduled to be an expansion project for an existing company.
No word yet on how to apply for those jobs until the deal is signed.
