Gaffney Hosts Annual S.C. Peach Festival

You're invited to celebrate South Carolina's peach crop this weekend, at the annual S.C. Peach Festival in Gaffney.

The event got underway Thursday and will continue through Saturday. Of course, peaches are only part of the fun planned. The festival opens at 5 p.m. on Friday, featuring a variety of carnival rides and games as well as arts and crafts.

This year's schedule also includes a barbecue and "wing ding" contest as well as live music. A full schedule of events is listed below.

Friday July 12th

1:00 p.m. - Golf Tournament

5:00 p.m. - Festival Opens

6:00 p.m. - BBQ "Wing Ding" Contest

7:30 p.m. - Doug McCormick

9:00 p.m. - Darrell Harwood and The Coolwater Band

 
  

Saturday July 13th

7:30 a.m. - Road Race 5k Run/Walk & 10k Run

9:00 a.m. - 1 Mile Run

9:00 a.m. - Arts & Crafts

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Car Show

10:00 a.m. - Parade, With Carnival Rides to Follow

11:30 a.m. - Mill Billy Blues

1:00 p.m. - Zoofood

2:30 p.m. - The Craig Sorrells Project

3:00 p.m. - BBQ Winners Announced

5:00 p.m. - Wrestling

7:30 p.m. - Linda "Chocolate Thunder" Rodney

9:00 p.m. - Mothers Finest
